In 1970, Carlos Santana saw his big break as a rock musician. With the album Abraxas is his second LP made it to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. For a Latino musician who presented himself as a guitar god with raw energy, a totally unexpected success. Producer Fred Catero, also Janis Joplin and Chicago produced was set in the studio on the right mix and create an equally musically impressive, and sonically compelling album.
Discreet 38 years later we now get to hear what was banished really on the master tapes. Shawn R. Britton tells us his opinion as an engineer with very subtle. In the outlet zone of the LP is to read in small print: Rock it Carlos!
